In 2020, The Steinman Foundation & United Way of Lancaster created the Lancaster Partnership for Learning Equity (LPLE) in response to COVID-19’s disruption of K-12 education. Summer learning and after-school programs are offered by LPLE to provide rigorous academic instruction by highly skilled educators in a virtual environment. Curriculum is provided by BellXcel, a nationally recognized non-profit organization specializing in evidence-based educational enrichment programs.
Summer Learning
This 5 week, fully virtual program is a great way to keep your scholar learning, even during the summer months. Students are grouped by grade and instructed by a certified and experienced educator. One-hour live lessons take place each day and include math, literacy & enrichment activities. In addition to live lessons, families have access to the Bellxcel Family Resource Library, containing countless hours of activities and videos you can use with your scholar to learn together. Summer Learning educators are also available to provide support, learning strategies and guidance to families & their scholars. Each student enrolled in the Summer Learning program receives curriculum materials, books for their home library, and a backpack full of school supplies to support their learning. Laptops are available for families with demonstrated need. This program is FREE and open to any student living in Lancaster County ages 4 years old through rising 9th graders (students who have just completed 8th grade).
