What do you call a rock that never goes to school? A skipping stone! Where do rocks like to sleep? In bedrocks! Do you really hate rock puns? My sediments exactly. But if you’re looking to learn about rocks, minerals and more, look no further than The North Museum of Nature and Science!
The North Museum’s mission is to enable knowledge of nature and science by inspiring individuals, engaging communities, and connecting organizations.
Remodeled in 2015, the museum offers an engaging Explore Nature Gallery, Live Animal Room, Dinosaur Gallery, state of the art planetarium and more.
Visitors who have grown up coming to the North Museum will remember our extensive collections of fossils, rocks, minerals, and birds. For generations, a visit to the North Museum has sparked their curiosity, leading to a journey of lifelong learning.
The North Museum reaches over 12,000 students in more than 250 local schools every year through community based programming like the Science & Engineering Fair, STEM Sisters, and What in the World career exploration. The North Museum is dedicated to inspiring ongoing education and learning from children to adults!
